Raising money for the Dell Children’s Medical Center
Sign up to join Dance Marathon’s Morale Committee!
Seriously, this will be the most fun you can have in one semester. The Morale committee brings Dance Marathon to life by planning the entirety of fun shenanigans, while also working to boost the morale (get it?) of all the dancers and families involved.
As a committee member, you will need to attend weekly meeting, which are held at 8:30 PM in the Chicano Culture Room at the Texas Union, as well as participate in some planned workdays in the Spring to prepare for the big day. You will also assist the executive committee with occasional tabling, such as DM on the Plaza or DM on West Mall, and Pancake fundraising nights.
Committee members must like three of the following: Fun, the new facebook, enthusiasm, and creativity. (That was a trick question, no one likes the new facebook). At each committee meeting, committee members will gather to create all of the day’s activities and themes. The morale committee is the face of Dance Marathon and is not restrained by any bound. If you are creative, enthusiastic, and enjoy decorating with a highly energetic crowd, Morale is the place for you.
If you are interested, please attend a weekly meeting or email Patrick Ferrell or Danica Schmidt with any questions you may have.
Dance Marathon is a fundraiser unlike any other at the University of Texas. Benefiting Children's Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas, Dance Marathon fills Gregory Gym with twelve straight hours of music, live entertainment, food, games, and of course dancing. The success of Dance Marathon lies in its participants, the dancers. Being a dancer is open to all UT students, and involves attaining donations for volunteering to stay standing throughout the duration of the event. Dancing the whole time is not required, but is highly encouraged!
